Beautiful Grounds
Reviewer's Comments
The grounds were awesome, lighting at night was remarkable! Rooms were spacious. Hotel in and of itself was just beautiful. Service was awful though...Cast members/hotel staff not very friendly. Called mousekeeping several times for items, never rec'd. Food mediocre and expensive. If they could improve on the service of the staff I would highly recomend this resort...but in the meantime, I would not give it a very high rating....

Summary
Nice Hotel
Reviewer's Comments
We stayed at the Coronado on 12/01/02-12/07/02. Even though it was known for being a Convention Center we did not run into many business people. All the Cast Members we ran into were very friendly. My daughter had an ear infection our first two days and all the Cast Members went out of their way to make her feel better, giving her stickers and ballons. The only problem we had was with the front desk when we asked them a question about return transporation to the airport they weren't very helpful. There comment to me was they weren't associated with Walt Disney Travel Company or the limosine company.
Our mousekeeping members were great. We would leave them a tip daily (didn't know if the same person cleans the room daily). When we returned to our room they would leave extra towels and coffee (my husband needs coffee in the morning.) Mousekeeping even arranged my daughters stuffed animals daily on her bed or in the window.
We ate a few times at the Pepper Market for dinner and once for breakfast. We actually enjoyed eating at the Maya Restaurant for breakfast We felt we got more for our money then if you ate at the Pepper Market for breakfast. Each day you could have your choice of eggs, waffles, french toast, muffins and cereal. It was a buffet style so you could go up as many times as you wanted.
We did not have many problems with the transportation to the theme parks. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus to arrive and they were never crowded.

Not great
Reviewer's Comments
I stayed here from 6/10/2002 to 6/16/2002 and was very disappointed. They closed the main themed pool because they had reserved it for a conference group. The food court was horrible so we had to travel to the parks or other hotels to eat. I would never stay here again.

Very Nice
Reviewer's Comments
This was our first stay at a Disney Resort Hotel. The "Dig Site" was great for our 6 & 9 year old grandchildren. The whole setting was beautiful. There was a little bit of a walk to get from one place to the other...but it still was very nice. The hot tub felt great after a long day at WDW. The Disney Transportation service was great. We would definitely stay at Coronada Springs in the future.

Summary
Pretty good
Reviewer's Comments
Can't really complain about this place and we were in the Ranchos, about as far from the front desk and restaurants as you could get. But we were relatively close to the pool, which had a very nice snack bar/bar, rest rooms, arcade and kids water slide. Also, bus stop #3 was right out in back of our building. The Pepper Market(food court) was fine for breakfast but I would eat the other meals elsewhere. I wasn't all that pleased when we ate there and its a little pricey for a food court. The decor is nice, the rooms were more than adequate and we had 3 adults in our room. Service was very good and in typical Disney fashion, there was nothing they wouldn't do to please you. The pool is very nice and open until Midnight. Most days the bus service to the parks were good. Only an occasional delay (of course it was usually to the park we were trying to get to) but it wasn't often. Good location so that only really long bus ride was to Downtown Disney. For adults this is good but given that this is also Disney's convention hotel, I would recommend staying elsewhere with young kids this hotel doesn't specifically cater to them. Oh yes, in the main hotel building the gift shop is really big, and there is a good size arcade and a nice little bar called Jacinto's. We just got back today so this is current.

Summary
A MUST SEE RESORT!
Reviewer's Comments
Ok, DONT LET ANY ONE TELL YOU DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS RESORT!!Experence it you're self! I've saw that most of the reviews on this resort have been negative. Do not let them fool you. I just got back from this resort and it was the best resort that I have been to in Disney. They have the most beautiful scenery and fountains. The main theme is mexican and this is a must see resort. The thing about stuff under the bed, ok who the heck in this world is going to spend more time than needed cleaning under the beds, when they have 100's of rooms to clean. Remember a vaccuum does not fit under a bed quite easily!! If you find somethign under you're bed jsut pick it up, God. The food is excellent and if you are looking for a great breakfast buffet than go to the mayan grill. They have tons of good food for not only breakfast but dinner also. The prices for dinner though are very high. The pepper market is great. Do not let anyone tell you other wise. Form you're own opinion. The only downside is that, this is there food court. The tip is also included on the bill. So dont! leave one at the table. I've found that older reviews are more negative than current ones so that is probably the reason why. This is a must see resort, we loved it, and will go back again as soon as possible. Oh yeah. we stayed in the casitas and it was excellent. Be carefull when choising a section. The more positve reviews were on the cabanas and the casitas. I personally wouldnt stay at the ranchos, But this is only my opinion. The ranchos mostly had bad reviews. And when reading reviews make sure you look at the date. More recent reviews are more positive than the past ones. Also about the buisness thing. Yes this is Disney's most popular resort for buisness people. It should be. They offer a whole seperate 2 floor building for convention centers. It is amazing. Their arnt that many buisness people walking around it is a family place to. The thing about the kids and teenagers is not true, there are few teenagers by them self. People are very friendly, and their are many kids. Like i said it is a family resort.

GRATUITIES
Reviewer's Comments
My mother and her husband stayed at this resort approx. one year ago. Upon leaving one of the restaurants, my mother left a tip on the table and then paid her bill, only later to realize that 20% gratuity had been added onto her bill, without her permission!!! You should never add anything onto someone's bill without asking them! That is a very poor practice. We are in the process of planning another vacation this year, and we will not stay at your hotel because of that. People do not like to be told what to leave for a tip, or forced into leaving a tip after paying so much money for the food in the first place! When other people ask about that hotel, as we travel to Disney at least once per year and are asked about our experiences there often, we tell them this and it takes business from you for the future. You should not try to force your guests into leaving tips! (also, I did not answer the questions above, as I did not stay in the hotel myself, so can not honestly answer them)
