Top resort!
Reviewer's Comments
I fell in love with this resort the minute I walked into the lobby. The theming is wonderful, and nothing seems to have been left out.
The CMs were all very nice and helpful, especially the ones at Arusha Rock, who will explain about the animals and answer any questions you may have.
The rooms are very nice, a bit on the dark side, but that's so the light doesn't affect the animals at night.
AKL really stands out with it's dining options. I only had breakfast at Boma, but I believe dinner is not to be missed. Mara offers a great selection and has plenty seating, or you can take it back to your room.
Where the AKL really stands out is the animals. Being able to wake up in the morning and step out onto the balcony to be greated by giraffe, wildebeest and bongos eating their breakfast is just amazing.
The only thing it falls down on is the location, and the only transport to the parks is by bus.

Safari Wonderland!
Reviewer's Comments
This was the most amazing resort I have ever stayed at. It had wonderful themeing in the lobby in the rooms, even in the elevators! There was a place to be loud and excited (the pool), and places to be quiet and calm down (large chairs overlooking the savana). The view from our room was worth the price, and I would definately go back.

BEAUTIFUL RESORT!
Reviewer's Comments
My husband and I stayed at AKL in May '02. The resort was absolutely beautiful! We had a room facing the pool. The room was very lovely. We didn't care for Boma's--too exotic for our tastes--but there have been many reviews praising it. The pool was very large and in a tropical setting. The lobby is beautiful--sort of comparable to WL. Of course the animals were the big draw--we saw many different animals--mostly in the morning. Food court was about the same as others. I would highly recommend staying at the AKL.

BEST CHRISTMAS EVER
Reviewer's Comments
We were able to wittness the birth of an African calf on Christmas day. It was the "icing on the cake" to be staying at such a beaytiful resort and be part of this event. Each day after we asked about the progress of the baby. All was well, and the cast was very informative and as excited as we were. I recommend this resort to all. And please take the time to enjoy the savanah from your balcony. The sounds and actions of the animals are amazing. We stayed for 7 days and 6 nights and were sad to leave. If anyone out there might know the name of the newborn calf, please let us know. The whole family was there and we guess each time we meet as to what the name may have been. Sincerely dawn.wilson@quebecorworld.com

unique and beautiful!
Reviewer's Comments
We actually had reservations for Caribbean Beach, but were upgraded to AKL because CBR was being refurbished. How lucky we were. This resort is absolutely beautiful. The view of the animals from our room was amazing. Our kids named the zebras and giraffes. We loved Boma for the breakfast buffet but it was a little too exotic for our taste at dinner. The only complaint I had about this resort is how dark the rooms have to be. We had a wonderful time in the pool. It was very large and they had alot of activities for the kids. We really enjoyed this beautiful resort.

Wonderful!
Reviewer's Comments
We stayed at the AKL last May for our 10th anniversary. We had a concierge room. We absolutely loved our stay. We were on the 5th floor with a wonderful view of the main savannah. We saw every kind of animal possible. When you have a room with a savannah view, you notice that the animals have a regular schedule and you try and hang around to see what you want to see. I really enjoyed the pool and the restaurants. If you are staying at the AKL and you can have a concierge level room, I HIGHLY recommend it. Here's why: the lounge is beautiful, the foos is terrific and pleniful (enough some days for breakfast and dinner) and the most mamzing perk...the Sunrise Safari. I am sad that we are staying at the Polynesian this year just because I would love to do the Sunrise Safari again. I have never seen so many animals so up close and in their "own" habitats like they are in the wild. We had giraffes stick their heads in our caravan and rhinos running around us. This was a remarkable experience. I don't even have the desire to go back to the Animal Kingdom park this year because the safari ride they have just doesn't do seeing the animals justice after you've seen it through the Sunrise Safari. I highly recommend a stay at the AKL. The only downside was the bus transportation everywhere.

Pretty Nice!!
Reviewer's Comments
I know this resort is favortite to a lot of people. I enjoyed this resort, but it is not my favorite. My 2 year old daughter just loved it. She didn't want to go to the parks, eat, or anything but watch the animals from our room. The theming is excellent, none better. I love to be in dark atmospheres, and this resort hits that spot on the head. That is the only complaint I have heard from others. The service was great, the rooms were comfortable. I highly recommend getting a savannah room. It is worth the extra money. A lot of people tell themselves, "Ah, we can see the animals from the lobby," but nothing compares to waking up and having giraffes and zebras outside your balcony. Great experience!!

Magic
Reviewer's Comments
Im 14 years old and my family and I have just returned from the most magical trip to Walt Disney World. We had been to WDW before but had always stayed at Disneys Caribbean Beach Resort. This time we stayed at Disneys Animal Kingdom Lodge. This is the best hotel my family and I have ever been too. Its spectacular and you could not fault anything about the hotel.
As soon as we entered the hotel it was breath taking. The lobby (Which is on the 3rd floor) is decorated with African art and is so relaxing. Checkin was so easy and they told us everything you need to no about the hotel and the parks. The checkin staff were so friendly. We stayed in a standard room but asked not to be over looking the car park. We got a view of the roof and the swimming pool, which was really nice as we had only paid for a standard view. As soon as we entered the room we could not believe we were there. The rooms were spotless and very nicely decorated. We were on the 4th floor in room 4402, which has two double beds.
The pool is also very nice. Its the biggest out of the WDW resorts and has a slide. The pool is open 24 hours. The slide is open and the lifeguards are out from 10am till 10pm. The pool bar specialises in cocktails, my favourite was a 'Paw Paw Paradise smoothie' which is non-alcoholic of course.
We ate at Mara (the food court) the most as it is quick service but still serves a great selection of hot and cold food. Mara is also where you can buy and refill your refillable mugs. Refillable mugs are a must if you are staying for a week or longer. It saves a lot of money and its so easy when you need a drink you just go to the refilling station and get what you want. Boma and Jiko are also very nice. The food in both restaurants was delicious. We only ate in Jiko once as in Boma theres more of a selection with it being a buffet. Jiko does not do Breakfast but Boma does. Its also a must to make priority seating when dinning at Jiko and Boma but you must remember that priority seating is not a reservation so you will still need to wait about 10 mins to get a table. Both Boma and Jiko give you a beeper and they beep you when your table is ready.
I could not finnish my review on AKL with out saying about the animals because it is so nice being round the animals. We went to see them everyday, visiting different savannahs. We liked the Giraffes best as you get to see them really up close. The best time to view the animals is in the morning (to take photos) and at night vision. Ask the Savannah guys and gals about the animals and feeding times etc.
I recommend staying at Disneys Animal Kingdom lodge, Its the best! I wish i could go back tomorrow.
