Pop Century:
This Resort is a nostalgic journey through decades gone by. Each building within the Resort features larger-than-life icons of pop culture fads, toys, dance crazes and catch phrases.

Summary
Not that pumped about Pop
Reviewer's Comments
Just returned from 7 nights at Pop. Having stayed at ASMu last year, I had some preconceived expectations going into this vacation. Like any place, there were positives and negatives.
First, the good: larger safe in the room could hold our laptop, keys, palm pilot and waist pack. There is a shelf above the sink--that was a great help. Bedside table has been lowered a bit so as not to crack your head on it. The bus transportation was FANTASTIC--we never waited over 5 minutes, coming or going. We were told that Pop is an "On Demand" resort and buses are dispatched when needed. The furnitre was a warm wood tone and the TV was larger than at All Stars.
Now, the negative: we found the rooms to be much noisier. Our rooms last yr overlooked the Calypso pool and we never heard anything. We could actually hear people in the next room at Pop. The housekeeping just was not up to Disney standards---our room was only vacuumed 1 time during our stay---our bath mat and plastic glasses were never replentished after the first day. I did not care for the gift shop connected to the food court and found the selection at the shop to be lacking. Also, found the layout of the food court to be confusing and there simply was not enough seating to accomodate everyone. The frozen slushy machines never worked our entire stay. The squirting fountains for kids to play in were only operating 1 day of our stay......and they really need to have lights at the outdoor playground.
Overall, it just seemed that perhaps they don't have all the kinks ironed out yet. I found it to be a bit less than what I was expecting and frankly, was disappointed.

Summary
Pop Century is awesome
Reviewer's Comments
We just spent 8 days at this resort and had a blast. We stayed in the 50's section, I had requested this section hoping it would be quieter and it was. The maid service was excellent. We asked for extra towels the first day we were there and they made sure we had extra everyday after that without us asking. Our cups and toiletries were replenished everyday, and the room vacuumed everyday. Of course with disney style the maids made our visit interesting with the quirking things they do with the towels and stuffed animals.
I thought the food at the food courts was an exceptional value and tasty. The room service really came in handy for the late night snacks. I did think they could have had more choices, but of course by the 5th day I was really looking forward to my own cooking.
I had a really nice time at the Classic Concoctions visiting with Dolly. From one bartender to another, she rocks! awesome job Dolly. I looked forward to having an evening cocktail and unwinding of an evening at her station. She really made the evenings fun and was very informative.
I got a kick out of all the cast members here at the resort.
At 8:00am the twist song comes on and they stop what they are doing and dance! Same thing at 6:00pm except its the hustle!
Quite entertaining!!
We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus. They came frequently, and if there were so many people going and a person didn't want to stand, a few minutes more and another bus was right behind.
My kids loved the pools and the pop jets. Of course they tried all of the above, but they usually ended up at the bowling pin pool in front of the 50's. When they weren't in the pool they played games in the arcade. I was impressed with this arcade because it seem to have something for every age, even the little bitty kiddies. My daughter won so many tickets, she came home with several prizes including the 60's style beaded curtains and a lava lamp!
I was even impressed with how quickly they got us checked in and into our room. Our last visit took over an hour waiting in line just to get checked in.
We were asked if we wanted to be involved in this survey the resort was doing and we agreed. Very simply we filled out a page in this dairy each evening, where we went, what we spent ect. Very simple. We turned it in each morning for a disney character ink pen. We were told a larger surprize gift would arrive in the mail in about 3 weeks for us taking part. Can't wait to see what it is.
All in all our stay at this resort was excellent. Very affordable and lots of fun.
When my kids get grown and just the 2 of us can go, we will try a different resort, but until then for the value Pop Century is the way to go. Considering that we only slept in the rooms, I couldn't see spending much more on a room, or need anything more that the rooms offered.

Summary
Great Experience!
Reviewer's Comments
We just returned from a 6 day visit and the Pop Century was a grat choice for our family. We had a preferred room on the 4th floor facing the 70's (we were in the 60's) The room was quiet enough but also close enough to the food court, lobby, and bus transportation. The transportation was great never waited long for a bus (well once we did, but for as many times as we were in line, that isn't bad) The hippy-dippy pool was a bit crowded at times but always found time and space to cool off.
The food was good for the most part, the pizza left a little to be desired but the steak wraps were great.
Our room was clean, fresh, and new.
We had stayed at the Music resort two years ago and it was nice, but the newness of the PC is a plus.

Summary
Loved Pop
Reviewer's Comments
We returned from Pop Century in October. After 8 nights can't wait to return this year. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside 2 years ago, and this hotel was better. Cleaner, more colorful, less walking to the busses, good location, no complaints at all. We had 2 children(6,10) and 2 adults, and did not notice any difference in room size. As far as noisy not at all. We were going to try to stay at a different hotel every time we went back, but we will probably return to the Pop for the value is one that is hard to pass up. Besides every Disney property is great in a different way.
