This was lovely.
Reviewer's Comments
I have been to Disney many, many times, and this was always a restaurant I'd wanted to try. FINALLY mad it this time, and we really enjoyed it.
We did make Priority Seating, although I'm not sure you'd need it..there seemed to be plenty of room, and we did change our seating time at the last minute to accomodate a fastpass, and it was no problem. During very busy times, PS would probably be a good idea, and always makes me feel more secure anyway.
I had their famous Cobb Salad, which was different than what I expected...everything in it was chopped tiny, tiny, tiny, but it was terrific as was the accompanying dressing..very unusual. We were seated at a large semi-circular banquette in the back which is elevated, so we were looking at the whole restaurant, which was great. The waiter was very charming to my daughter, who is three. At the outset, he asked her name, and spoke to her directly each time, he came over, "Alyssa, are you enjoying your lunch?" Very nice.. (fortunately she behaved like a little lady, lol) For dessert, I had the grapefruit cake, and my daughter had a tailored-for-kids dessert with ice cream, cake and gummy worms, which she loved. TRY THE GRAPEFRUIT CAKE!!!
VERY unusual and yummy with a cream cheese filling..really extraordinary! If you've been puttting this one off, as I had, try it.. you will not be disappointed!!

Imagineering dinner
Reviewer's Comments
Best meal ever, its an adjunct to the normal Brown Derby service, you can book to have lunch with an Imagineer, as it includes a 3 course meal and drinks, plus a superb free gift. Its cost of $60 is great value when taken against the normal menu charge for the same meal.
100% quality.

Fantastic service
Reviewer's Comments
We went to the Brown Derby for lunch in 2003 as a treat from my grandmother-in-law. We had to wait for a few moments while they got a table ready for the seven of us. While we were waiting my four year old daughter was having fun sitting in the cushy chairs out in the lobby. She had just sat down when some lady walks in sits down next to her and kicks her off. Needless ot say this scared and upset my daughter and we were about to say something to the rude lady, but our table was ready so we forgot about it. We sat down and got ready to order, but my daughter put her head down crying because she was still so upset at what had just happened. Our server Shiela was wonderful! She asked what had happened, was appalled at the story, and after taking our drink order went and told the hostess what had happened. After that she completely catered to my daughter to cheer her up. I had the cobb salad that was out of this world! I highly recommend it! My daughter had a special order of ice cream with gummy worms. While we were eating Shiela came back with an old fashioned phone and plugged it into the wall and sat it at our table. She told my daughter she had a phone call. When she picked up it was Goofy!! This cheered up my daughter and she was really surprised when Shiela came back again with a fresh chocolate chip cookie that Goofy had sent.
I and my husband have never been so pleased before! We called Disney directly letting the know how fabulous we were treated. The food was excellent and the service made our day! I highly recommend visiting!

Summary
Lunch w/Imagineer!
Reviewer's Comments
In 2004, I had the pleasure of booking a Lunch with an Imagineer at the Hollywood Brown Derby for my birthday. As a person who has always wanted to be a Disney Imagineer, this was the thrill of a lifetime!
We were seated in a private room of the Brown Derby with several other guests - in all, there were 7 people plus the Imagineer, so it was a great chance to ask all your questions. Our Imagineer was Jason Grandt who does a lot of the signs for the parks.
We were presented with a special menu to order off of (each personalized with your name, the date, Imagineer, and selections for the day) to keep. We were given a Leak Soup and Cobb Salad to start off - there were no choices here. Then we had our choice of a Filet Mignon, Thai Noodle Bowl, or Pan-fried Grouper; each with their assigned sides. Desert was Bananas Foster Mascarpone Cheesecake with Strawberry Sauce and Baily's Ganache.
The food was outstanding, even if there was not much choice. I suppose that's really not what you're there for, afterall! Several people among the seven had special diets, and the wait staff was more than happy to work with them to come up with a suitable alternative.
The time with Jason was an experience I'll never forget! This is certainly an adult-focused experience as there's really nothing to entertain young children. The conversation is very open (except for Disney Secrets they are not allowed to discuss - such as new & coming attractions). This all comes at a price - $60 a person, however it was worth every penny to me!
Unfortunately, I heard a rumor they are doing away with this experience. I hope by posting here that others who are interested might keep this wonderful event! I highly recommend you discuss this with your travel agent and book before this is no longer available! It really is amazing!
