Summary Sadly declined

Reviewer's Comments

When EPCOT opened this was the hidden jewel of the World Showcase restaurants. The decor was (and still is) beautiful, the food was interesting and good quality, and the service was good. But the best thing was the show. Three musicians playing wonderful music and the best bellydancing I have ever seen. In the 1990's it started to decline. The musicians were cut to one drummer and the dancer, instead of giving a real show, began just pulling guests out of the audience and fooling around. Lately the food and service have declined as well.

Summary HIDDEN JEWEL

Reviewer's Comments

Having been to Epcot several times, I was always "afraid" to try this place (it's kind of hidden in the back of the Morroco Pavilion). After taking the Epcot behind the scenes tour, I convinced my mom to give it a try. We went for lunch on the last day of our visit and it was wonderful. The price for the lunch special (which my guide suggested) was very affordable and the food was good. Our waitress was very informative and they did have a belly dancer perform during our meal. I am ashamed to say I skipped this place for so long!

Summary Very Interesting!

Reviewer's Comments

Never had Moroccan food before and I still can't say that it's my favorite tasting -- some of the dishes were excellent some were just good. However, the atmosphere was great --- beautiful building, very nice wait staff, willing to sit and speak to you about their country, customs and a very fun show -- 2 musicians and a bellydancer. It was quite fun and while it's not my first choice for the taste of food, it was a very fun evening and I do not regret trying it out!

Summary Fun

Reviewer's Comments

The waiter we had was a lot of fun. The belly dancer was incredible. The food was okay. The salad and bread were very good, but the rest of the food was not to my taste.

Summary Loved it

Reviewer's Comments

We loved it, of course I think hubby loved the Belly dancer more then anything, :(. LOL! But the food and service is great, our waiter signed are kids autograph book and wrote their name in Arabic which they loved. The atmosphere is so unique, also our 5yr got to get up and dance with the dancer, and she Loved that. This is a must do!

Summary Nice Place for Dinner

Reviewer's Comments

On a recent visit (Spring 2007) to the World Showcase we (party of two) decided to have dinner at Marrakesh. What a good choice!

We were able to do a walk up ADR (however, after this visit we tried again when Disney's Dining Plan was in full swing and had no success with walk up, so would advise making an ADR) for a table for two.

The choices on the menu are authentic, and very well prepared. We like to "order for the table" and share those selections. We had a chicken bastilla, the Night in Marrakesh, their delicious bread, and mint tea.

The server was attentive and made good recommendations. We were about three seating areas from the center of the restaurant where the Middle Eastern Dancer and music group perform. We were able to see her and enjoy the music quite easily from our location.

It was dimly lit, but not gloomy. It could be romantic, but a little busy, and the noise level was just a touch high. It didn't interfere with conversation between the two of us.

Desserts were on offer, of course! I tried the delicious almond cake topped with mandarin oranges. It was very satisfying without being overly sweet.

I would recommend this restaurant as one of the nicer full service choices in the World Showcase.
