Summary
Excellent Sharks Grill
Reviewer's Comments
With everywhere else fully booked at SeaWorld, we were advised by Guest Services to try Sharks Underwater Grill. Be warned though, if you expect to walk up to the desk and walk straight in, you will be very fortunate. As with many of the Florida park restaurants, you go and put your parties name on the list and will be told roughly how long it will be before they expect it to be before you can eat. They normally expect a wait of around an hour however, our party of 12 was seated in around 40 minutes. You sit in subdued lighting at your table with the shark tank all around you (if you go, see if you can spot the goofy one who looks like Ronaldhinio).
The food is more upmarket, specialising mainly in seafood with a caribbean twist, although steak and chicken is also available. It's great when you can sit looking at a menu for 15 minutes and still constantly changing your mind as to what you want to eat. Portion sizes were good and well presented, including the children's meals. I had the Sharks Trio which was a combination of blackened Tuna Steak, King Prawns and Scallops with a tropical sauce. Possibly a little spicy but impossible to leave any! It was the most expensive on the menu at around $23 (about £12-13). Excellent value. The only downside that could be argued is that portions, as with most American restautants, are perhaps too big as rarely can you manage 2 courses let alone 3 which with the tempting starters means that you can normally only dribble over the dessert menu without managing to eat one!
