Summary
Poor Service @ Villas
Reviewer's Comments
This was our fourth visit to this resort and will be our last. We have always made reservations on the phone prior to this visit. This reservation was done via the internet and confirmed with a phone call. We specifically requested a handicap accessible room and when we checked in I checked-in sitting in my own wheelchair. When we got up to our room it was not handicap accessible. When we asked to have this changed, we were told nothing was available and to call the front desk the next day and they would get us a handicap accessible room that day. The next day they told us there was nothing they could do and that this problem was all our fault because we had made online reservations rather than going through their special handicap accomodations staff and because we didn't make a point of needing a handicap room when we checked in.
They finally did offer us a one bedroom villa at a downscale resort and a partial discount (because the other resort was cheaper) but this was after multiple contacts with the front desk initiated by us. The downscale resort did not have any of the transportation advantages of this resort so we declined. We finally asked for a room in the hotel plus our one bedroom villa location so that we could get handicap accomodations. This was after three days of a seven day stay. They did get us a room for the last 3 days at an additional cost of $1,000!
During all of our other stays, we received a complimentary newspaper every morning and shampoo, body lotion, laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent as part of the room costs. we were always able to get a handicap accessible room. This time none of these nice amenities were available in the villas. The customer service desk was not open during our entire stay of 10/21-10/27. Although they continue to charge their upscale prices, they no longer provide upscale service! We were told that none of these services are offerred to anyone using the villa rooms because they are part of the vacation club even if you are not vacation club members. Ultimately, we were really sorry to see the decline of this previously great hotel. We will never use this hotel again and would not recommend it for anyone else either.

Summary
better than The Plaza
Reviewer's Comments
I've stayed in one of the big rooms with my parents, with the jacuzzie and one of the smaller, average sized hotel rooms. Both were very nice. Especially the big room. Had a nice little living area, a cute little kitchen, huge bathroom. :P My favorite thing about the boardwalk and the surrounding hotels is that you can walk to EPCOT and MGM which are my favorite parks :D Walking to MGM is a little bit much, especially when it's hot out, so most of the time we took the boat, but still.
The only bad part was the view. You have two choices: Over the board walk itself which is really noisy at night or you can have a lovely view of the parking lot.
The view we had when we stayed not in the villas, but a regular room was much better. We could see the fire works from our room! but the villas are much nicer :D

Love It!
Reviewer's Comments
We've stayed at the villas three times, always a two bedroom as we've brought all our boys plus a friend or two. Rooms are plenty big. We eat breakfast in the room, chuk the dirty clothes in the washer at night and into the dryer in the a.m. so we return homw with clean clothes. Access to EPCOT and MGM is a short walk, bus to MK and AK but they run very regularly. Evenings on the balcony are relaxing and once you've seen EPCOT's show and Fantasmic, just enjoying the fireworks from the balcony is great. Spoodles is quite good. We're vacation club members so we think these are great value, not sure I could ever afford the actual cost of these two bedrooms.

I love it!!
Reviewer's Comments
My family and I love this resort. Since staying here in 2003, we have stayed at Saratoga and Port Orleans and by far I prefer this resort. You cannot beat the walk to two theme parks and the interior corridors! The only dissappointment we had is that our room was very far away from the elevator, but at least we were walking in air conditioned halls verus sticky corrdors.

Have been a DVC member since 1999. Have been about 9 times and always stayed in a studio - as we come from UK we always go for about 2 weeks each year. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back in August 2006.
