Reviewer's Comments
A very laid back and relatively quiet resort with well appointed self catering accommodation ranging from Studios [sleeps 4] up to Grand Villas [sleeps 12]. Limited dining facilities, but only a pleasant short boat ride away from Downtown Disney.
Ideal for friends or family reunions etc.

EXCELLENT
Reviewer's Comments
I think Old Key West is the best resort on the disney property!! My grandparents are on the Vacation Club..It is wonderful to know you have all those great discounts. I would recomend signing up to be part of the Vacation Club! I think that Old Key West has excellent value and service!!! The pool is awsome.. with the spa and everything! I also think the rooms are very spacious and roomy, so you can really spread your stuff out if you have a lot of people staying with you! The last time i was there (6/03) it was wonderful! I just think it always is!! The only thing that was a bad experience was when me and my mom couldnt find a bus going to OKW down at Down Town Disney.. it took about 1hr and 1/2 till we got home.. but that was the only really bad experience.. if i were to sum it all up.. i would say it is the best resort there!
CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!

I love vacationing at Old Key West. I have been going there for approximately 12 years. They are making improvements every year. I will continue to stay there when I visit WDW!

My stay at Disney Old Key West with my family on July 7th through July 14th was wonderful. This was our first time staying at any resort and we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service is great. We plan to visit next summer.

Love it
Reviewer's Comments
We will definitely stay here again. Were had a 1 bedroom and felt sooooo comfortable! We loved having so much space. We used the laundry room twice and appreciated being able to. The room was on the seond floor and very quiet. Scenary was beautiful.
We rented a car because I had read so many reviews that suggested this. SO happy we did! Walking to the pool, restaurant, gift shop etc...would have been horrible. We kept an eye on the buses coming and then leaving the parks and decided that the lines waiting to catch the bus back to the resort were just tooo long! After a long day at the parks, getting on the tram and then into the car was so much nicer than having to wait for that bus.
We rented pedal boats and played in the community center twice. Lots of fun.
The pool was nice. Good size and never crowded. The kids loved the slide.
I liked getting away from the disney theme overload at the parks. The resort is like a getaway.
Check in at 2pm on a Friday was easy. Because we had the car, we made it there 5 minutes before the Magical Express busses. We walked right up to the desk and checked in while a huge line formed behind us from the people getting off the busses.
My only complaint is that when I called the resort prior to arrival to check on where I could get basic groceries, I was told the resort store had "dry goods" only and that anything else would have to be purchased from a nearby grocery store. We made a special trip to the grocery store, only to find out later that the resort store has milk, eggs, bacon, bread, fruit etc....
Other than that, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and WILL be back!

Home Away from Home
Reviewer's Comments
I'm a DVC Member and I've stayed at all of the Disney Resorts other than Saratoga but I always come back to OKW. It's lush wooded areas and waterways make it really tropical just like Key West. The villas are fantastic and should you have a problem the maintenance staff is there in a flash. Love the Gurggling Suitcase and the hot dogs by the pool. The kids really love the new slide. The only dissapointment is Olivia's Restaurant. The breakfast is great but I would like a little more variety in the dinner choices. OKW is the oldest Disney Resort and all of the newer Resorts have better resaurants and more choices but I still love OKW the best overall. Just got back and can't wait to go again!
