not impressed
Reviewer's Comments
I guess we were just used to a smaller resort. After staying at the FQ, we were not impressed with CBR. Just personal preference I guess. There is nothing wrong with the resort and I certainly don't want this review to deter anyone from going but we just prefer the FQ.

Cheery & Colourful
Reviewer's Comments
For convenience, I recommend staying close to Old Port Royale. We had a room in Martinique block 25 - which was excellent for the food court, shop and swimming pools. The bus stop was only a short stroll away, and the staff were lovely - each and every one of them!

Reviewer's Comments
Resort was tropical and lush. Very peaceful! But pool needing painting badly. Bathroom was so small. But service was great! However, had a long check-in time(over an hour) and making calls was very expensive with that 50% add on by the resort! View was awesome but walk to foodcourt (ETC) was grueling. We hardly used our refillable mugs because if we did we had to drag them through the parks all day or make that long-long back to the rooms. I wished the mugs were good in the parks as well somehow.
Theme could be more detailed, but a serene place to be. The white beach in front of our room at night was beautiful. The beach right in front the room gave my son a place to get sand in his feet and play and us to relax. The foliage was beautiful. Food in foodcourt excellant.

Summary
Another beautiful resort!
Reviewer's Comments
This is a very beautiful resort. We requested a water view room and both times got one on facing the beach. They have hammocks to relax in--romantic. The villages surrounds a lake and you can rent bikes and ride along it. I wasn't too crazy about their pool--I think too small for such a large resort. Very colorful and upbeat resort though. Our favorite village is Jamacia.

Great Place
Reviewer's Comments
I really enjoyed this resort. Very peaceful and quiet, except near the main pool. The themeing was good. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. We really enjoyed sitting on the beach at night watching fireworks and having dessert, while our kids played in the sand. We definitly will go back again.

A Little Bit of a Let Dow
Reviewer's Comments
This resort was not completely awful, but seemed a little drab. The room I was in was dingy (the carpet needed cleaning and the walls a good painting). I did hear that they were refurbishing the rooms, and I think I just got stuck with one that was not done yet. For the price I thought I would get a tad bit more luxery than the All Stars which I stayed in before, but as soon as I saw my room I yearned for the All Stars. It's a lot brighter and livlier there than here.

Summary
please let me stay
Reviewer's Comments
This was the first time we'd taken the children on such a long journey and we were glad we'd made the effort. Having visited Disneyland Paris many times, we raided the piggy-bank and set off for the REAL THING. We chose CBR because it looked romantic in the brochure. It certainly was - but not for me. It was however for the honeymoon couple next door!!! Thank goodness the children believed 'they're only moving furniture' at three in the morning. Apart from the 'nightlife', we were thrilled with the whole resort. The beach fronts were fun and our room was far enough away from the steel band to make the music a pleasant rhythum in our ears as we floated around in the lovely small pool beside our building. We stayed in Arruba and everything was within walking distance. We found the hotel maids were wonderful and always found the childrens soft toys from home in different places on our return from the parks (ie sitting in the window with a book to read or laying on the bed with hats on - how nice to find people who care about the little things that make holidays special. Well done to everyone at the CBR - except the little green gecko lizard that kept clinging to our door and scaring me every morning.

Summary
Wouldn't go again, but ok
Reviewer's Comments
We went to the CBR Feb '99 and it was looking rather 'tatty'. The rooms looked like they needed decorating, maybe they have been now. They were also small compared to other hotels we've stayed at. The noise at night was a let down for us, we were above a courtyard where a crowd sat drinking until the early hours (not good with small kids!) The party in question were teachers and the kids they should have been supervising were allowed to 'run riot' up and down the outdoor landings. They were warned several times by security, in the end we switched rooms to escape them. The second room was quieter. The walls are very thin though, so be careful what you say/do! In the daytime, the grounds were lovely and the setting is very nice. We did like the hammocks on the beach and the quiet pool which was never very busy. I won't return though, it felt a bit like a holiday camp to me (like Butlins!) and it's overpriced for what it is.
